You guys it’s my birthday!! I am not one to make my own birthday cake, but I will certainly whip up a Strawberry Cream Cake Martini, slug it back, and spank myself for not doing this on my unbirthday! I have a ridiculously embarrassing amount of airplane sized bottles of UV Cake vodka and it took a birthday to figure out a way to still enjoy a little birthday treat without having to bake an entire cake. I have bought liter-sized bottles of this stuff before, but there is something about having disposable cake flavored vodka in these handy little, purse-friendly bottles. I don’t need a whole cake sitting around because I will eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This dessert drink was a quick way to celebrate, and cake-flavored works for me!

Strawberries, cream, and some UV Cake vodka. A blender is necessary and I love my Ninja~you can use a smoothie blender too if you have one! Whatever you have to do to get this drink into a glass so that you can get back to celebrating whatever it is that you are also too lazy to make a cake for. Haha. A cocktail shaker set comes in handy to shake this up with ice and then strain it. But I won’t lie; it tastes good however you get it to your lips. It does get a bit pulpy though…and if you have the correct bar tools you won’t be sorry you spent the 20 bucks. Martini glasses also help to make this impressive, and be sure to slap a strawberry on the rim. You will feel fancy and special like it’s your birthday even if it isn’t!!

Song for the Prep: Birthday by Sugarcubes
What a perfect album, and a great birthday song~ I remember when it came out and I bought it at my favorite local record store. This album still gets a lot of love from moi…I hope that you have a better birthday dinner planned than what they are eating here….snakes? This is such a precious video in so many ways…not just because the song is a dang delight either. “Today’s a birthday, they’re smoking cigars, he got a chain of flowers….”
